My first picture since dunno how many donkey years ago. LOL! These are my harvest from the durian picking trip at lower seletar reservoir area. Jack was still complaining abt my blog being very empty this morning. HAHA! Went to recce the area on friday night, but didnt proceed much further due to the darkness. I didnt bring a torchligh along then. Went back there abt 7.30am on sat morning. the place tt i found last night wasn't the exact place tt was "filled" with durians. i ventured deep inside and found like a house there with a mini garden. There was even a spider the size of my palm. bloody big sia! wth. met an uncle on my way out. the first thing he asked me was got pick any anot. it's like he's used to having visitors there alr. he even told me where to go to get a good harvest, it was someplace quite far away down the road. my new search began some time like arnd 8.30am ? but there was no edible durian to be seen. all i saw were rotten ones or just shells. occasionally i would hear durian falling. though it's the freshest, i couldn't find it cuz it's like super densed inside and so many trees arnd. hard to spot a green object falling. i also met a few uncles inside that forest. they gave me like a few safety and durian finding tips ? when i went deeper inside, i chanced upon an area which was filled with durian trees. after walking inside the forest for so long, i alr knew how to spot durian trees le. finally after 2hrs. i found my first durian. LOL! and the subsequent ones came very very soon after. my 2nd one fell down from the tree like 2m beside me, judging by the sound. after tt i devised a tactic to find durians. HAHA! look under arnd the tree can liao. tts the more dangerous way luh. or can follow the uncle's method. sit under a non durian tree and wait. after i picked my 5th one, i wanted to leave le. when i turned towards the exit, i heard one durian drop. but the old uncle was like more anxious so i didn't want to compete with him for it. help him spot the durian and he took it lo. after tt, i realised tt sometimes, it pays to be kind. LOL! cuz another fell near the exit which i was heading to. a bigger one somemore. the next problem was transporting the 6 durians hm. they were like super big man ! i took a bus to the interchange at first. but the smell like too overwhelming inside the bus. and i realised tt bus dun allow durians on board. then i was scared tt i take mrt, the person will check my bags. cuz i had like 3 ? 2 durian inside each one. so in the end i took a cab back. the less tiring part was opening the durians. 2 was water logged, so like overiped. cannot be eaten. there was another one tt's out of this world sia. like seriously. i kept half of it for wy and grace. there was also another one which had a slight taste of alcohol, according to my mum. lol! but i didnt really taste it. i think i will go and pluck more nxt sat morning. zing says she wants to join me, but she prefer at night. haha. at night to dangerous liao la. muz ask zookia go with us !
